Plenty of opportunities
to practice rock dodging in St. Louis these days, with potholes all over town from the freezing and thawing of asphalt. This particular bike-and-bone shaker, accented with a cigarette butt, is northbound on Newstead Avenue at the Metrolink crossing.

That appears to be another sunken manhole cover, of the sort that exist all over the city.
